Donkey Doo Drop

Donkey Doo Drop is a unique and fun event! Buy a square before the event by visiting the HFV Wilson Community Center or the Ardmore Parks and Recreation Office! On October 3rd, we will let the donkey out and if our lovely donkey doos on your square, you get $100 cash! We will also have hotdogs, chips, and a drink availalbe for $3 while we donkey watch! You do not have to be present to win but we would love to have lunch with you! All proceeds benefit the United Way of South Central Oklahoma!

A storm chasing veteran of 20 years, Reed Timmer, Ph.D., takes his audience directly inside the tornado with videos and scientific data collected from the tank-like Dominator intercept vehicles, as featured on Discovery Channel's Storm Chasers series in 2008-2012. Reed will share intense, storm-chasing videos while discussing the roles of storm-chasers and emphasizing the science of tornadoes and how to stay safe in severe weather. He’ll also discuss the record-breaking 2017 hurricane season, including Hurricane Harvey in Texas and Hurricane Irma in Florida, from a chasing and climatology perspective.

Walk to End Alzheimer's of Southeast Oklahoma

Barksgiving

Chigger Chase

Come chill with the Chigger at the 23rd Annual Chigger Chase run at Ardmore Regional Park! Run through the Festival of Lights to kick off the Christmas season with your family and friends. Children will chase the Chigger in the 1/4 and 1/2 mile fun runs. If you think you can catch the Speedy Chigger, you should do the 5K run! You also have the option of a 1 mile fun run or walk. Don’t forget our new feature, the 5 mile run! Early registration deadline is October 31st! Late registration will be available until 3:00p on November 17th.

Festival of Lights

Ardmore's Joyful 1.5 mile drive-thru Festival of Lights display located in Regional Park opens Saturday, November 17th following the Chigger Chase and closes Sunday, December 30th. With over 125 displays, the Festival of Lights is one of the largest holiday light displays in Southern Oklahoma! Crank up the Christmas tunes and visit our sparkling winter wonderland!

Santa's Mailbox

November 27th, 2018 All Day - December 19th, 2018
On November 27th a special mailbox will appear at Central Park! Children can mail their letters straight to the North Pole to Santa’s Workshop! Send a self-addressed, stamped envelope with your letter to Santa and he will personally answer each letter. The last day for Santa’s Mailbox is December 19th!

Christmas Tree Lighting

Bring the family and join us at the Ardmore Parks and Recreation’s Christmas Tree Lighting Celebration! Our Christmas Market begins at 11:00a for all your holiday shopping needs. Food trucks, entertainment, and much more all centered around the beautiful Christmas Tree Lighting in Central Park. This will be an amazing celebration to start the Christmas season on November 27th. Entertainment begins at 4:30p. The lighting of the tree occurs at approximately 6:15p.

PARADE OF LIGHTS

The largest, most exciting parade during the holidays in southern Oklahoma! Last year, the parade featured approximately 80 entries with lights, Lights, LIGHTS! Santa and Mrs. Claus arrive at the end of the parade, too, which pleases the children.

Santa's Workshop

Santa will be in town Friday, November 30th and Saturday, December 1st at his Workshop in Ardmore Regional Park. After the Festival of Lights, stop by to get a picture with Santa, make a couple of gifts for a loved one, and enjoy some homemade goodies. We give away a family fun pack each night so make sure you visit the registration table for a chance to win! As we know Santa is very busy this time of year! He will only be in town from 6:00p –10:00p for one weekend only! Goodies and pictures will be available for purchase for a small fee. Santa’s Workshop is also the perfect place to drop off a gift for Toys for Tots!

Jolly Trolley

Climb aboard our private Jolly Trolley and step into the world of your favorite Christmas stories! The night begins with story-telling around Central Park’s Christmas Tree as we patiently await the magical ride. Hot chocolate and cookies are provided while you wait. Once aboard the Jolly Trolley, we will whisk away to the Festival of Lights and enter the Winter Wonderland of over 125 displays of twinkling lights. The Jolly Trolley will return to Central Park. Arrive at one of the designated time slots below. First come, first serve.

Softball, Cornhole, and Toys for Tots! ‘Tis the Christmas Season! The softball tournament is a 250– USSSA– 7/3 Coed Tournament. The tournament is double elimination allowing only 4 homeruns per team or teams can pay $20 for unlimited homeruns. This event is a great way to have fun and give back just in time for Christmas! Breakfast with Santa & Candy Cane Scramble
